Help Wanted? - Van - 11-30-2010

I wonder if the MOH would pay me a referral fee for referring someone to be THE PR person for the medical crisis, or lack thereof. LOL. Look here, maybe Negril will be getting a 'new'ambulance after all.

Seriously, all joking aside, if this is true, it is a good thing. This and many parts of the 'system' is in absolute shambles. I hope in addition to buying the structure of an ambulance, they buy the proper life saving equipment as well. The PR line about the Health Dept being able to adequately respond to previous demands makes me want to vomit. It is untrue..not just in Negril.

I guess the article shamed them.

Regarding the last couple ambulances in/near Negril, did I read that they were out of service due to crashes? I assume (pray) the EMTs are well trained, and even a rudimentary emergency vehicle will be helpful, but if they have an untrained speed demon driving, it might just be a moot point. I am going to stay positive that all possibilities are being considered when purchasing/hiring/training. This makes me quite relieved, to know the powers that be understand the need for emergency care.
