Vistas and Vineyards... Nova Scotia #2 - Sprat - 05-24-2012
It was a wonderful long May weekend in Canada, probably the best weather in years, and after leaving the coast...we headed for the Valley. Up and down the hills, round the curves and eventually the Valley opens up before your eyes.
The yellowish green foliage turns to a deeper darker colour and the sights are in vivid colour.
This time of the year is Apple Blossom time...and the trees lined the windy roads...
We finally reach the Gaspreau valley...
The vineyards are bare, but they are working on getting them ready for the summer season...
This is the view from the road heading to the Gaspreau vineyard...the patchwork of colours is outstanding....
The contrasts and shades of colour are breathtaking...
And we arrive at the Gaspreau Vineyard....

Very Lovely as Always Sprat. Thanks for sharing. The more I see of Canada, the more I like it, In spring, summer, only. I can not tale the cold!

The Gaspreau winery is small but quaint but very busy with the weather being so nice...
After our purchases at the first winery, we asked about the new Winery which we missed last summer. Follow the road...up a mountain and then we arrived at the new Vineyard....
The morning dew was still on the flowers...and the air was refreshing...
We followed our way up the mountain to 'Luckett's Vineyard'...and the first thing we noticed was the red phone both in the middle of the vineyard.
Of course, that was part of the theme and his signature wine... 'Phone Booth Red'....yes be bought it...and yes it was delicous! lol
The place was packed with a bus tour, having lunch overlooking the gorgeous valley...so we picked up some wine, but made the time to bond with a couple of horses on the next property...
It was a wonderful experience...we grabbed a sandwhich to go...and headed down the mountain...
This is the view of the Minas Basin of the Bay of Fundy.....
