nice post, (though the pictures never downloaded for me ) I have a slow service provider at home though, I will try and view the pictures at work tomorrow. I never realized there were two types of shrimp in the Middle Quarters, I always thought they were all crayfish just being portrayed as shrimp!

There are shrimp-shrimp as well - some really huge. Sometimes they are called prawns - I've never known/been able to tell the difference between a prawn and a shrimp. What's great about this place is that they actually acknowledge and separate the different "types" (i.e., crawfish and shrimp) so you can have the best of both.

Personally, I like the large shrimp best - much easier to deal with. When dealing with crawfish I tend to cut my fingers then that pepper mess gets in there - OW!

Definitely a diff. between crayfish and shrimp-I learned that living in New Orleans..
Actually there is a small difference in appearance with re; to shrimp and prawns-and has nothing to do with size-They are classified as two diff. species.

They all taste good...esp cajun style...

RG-do you have more info re; those little cottages you visited??? I'd love to check them out sometime..

Re: From the Blog: Back on the Back of the Bike - rastagirl777 - 04-26-2012

I tried to look them up online and found nothing out about them except the name of the place (I had forgotten the name of the place but remembered the name of the owner).

So...all I know is Casa Mariner. The owner is Mr. Manley Wallace. It looks so cute and was quite empty seeming when I was there - could almost be a "drive by/drop in" situation if you wanted to stay there. I did not look inside the cottages but the outsides were uber cute.
