Marko, wake up mon, we're going to the Blue Hole today, remember?

It was Ras.

"yeah mon, I had my coffee and B-fast, so I'm good to go!" I said.

I was sitting on the veranda just enjoying life, not a care in the world.

Soon, Ras arrived, We had about 7 folks and 2 cars.

It was a nice day , Ras was driving the car I was in and he tooled the Toyota up to and through Orange Bay . (I think).

Nice, driving out that way, cane fields and green pastures abound.

After a short while we made a left off of the road and entered "the winding path".

It was quite a trip.

Lefts curves and right curves winding down a gravel like road.

We could only go about 5-10 mph.

Seemed like it took forever, but it was only maybe 10 minutes, but at that speed (or lack thereof) it seemed like a long time.

We finally made it out of the twisting road and entered a massive clearing.

There is a parking area and we hopped out.

There is a big thatched roof bar with chairs and tables under it.

Then I saw the hole.

A very large hole in the ground.

You can lean over the wall or climb up on the wall and look down.

Deep drop, maybe 20-25 feet to the water. About 20 feet wide too.

It was a mysterious blue/green color and it looked like monsters lived down there.

No way man, I'm not jumping.

"I'm gonna do it" said Ras.

"My man, more power to ya" I said.

There is a nice swimming pool a little further away from the hole.

Lounge chairs and a cabana like covering over more tables and chairs beside the pool.

The ladies found a nice spot and started to get there sun tan on.

I was at the bar, having a nice cold beer with the other driver and I saw it.

It was like the creature from the black lagoon gone wild! Like Godzilla attacking Tokyo!

Call the marines!!

It was Ras! He was hell bent and in full flight!!

He jumped up and out and for a moment he had wings.

Just a little moment, because he started going down like the a ton of bricks.

Down, down he went. Splash and then silence.

Not a movement in the water!

RAs! Where's my man Ras!

Oh lordy, is this it, has the mighty Ras finally been vanquished by the Blue Hole!

It seemed like eternity, a lady next to me started to faint.

Then like a Phoenix rising from the ashes Ras popped his head out of the water like ballon full of air.

He came up so fast, he actually went back down up to his chin.

Then I saw it, that famous Ras smile from ear to ear.

It was a good day.

LOL.

I went down the ladder and jumped from like 2 feet above the water. I love to swim, jump notsomuch

Orange Hill, Orange Bay, Green Island, Blue Mountains,

Man, alot of colors in Jamaica.

But it was a fantastic at the Blue Hole.

I don't know why, but that hole scared me.

Sorry folks, I can swim like a fish, but........, I'll take the beach.

I love swimming-esp in mineral springs..but something about "that Hole" that creeps me out..been there a few times and have not got in yet..One of these days..
