Experience Jamaica Roots & Culture Free - Khim - 02-02-2012

For visitors and locals who might not know, this Thursday and Friday (Feb 2nd and 3rd) there will be a cultural roots party on the West End, Negril at the Roots House (near Rick's Cafe) called Stepping High.

This party exposed an aspect of Jamaican culture - that of Rastafarianism. This is a FREE party, a way of saying thank you for visiting the island and to show you a little more of what Jamaica has to offer.

Stepping High is an annual event. No other even compares to the experience of attending a Stepping High Party. Once you enter the gates, you are greeted with an aura of Peace, Love and Community.

Get the experience of One Love!

NB..While there is no entrance fee, you should feel free to leave a donation at the gate to ensure the continuation of this party. Suggested donation is US$5.

There also will be other cultural events taking place at this time...this one is off the commercial zone and in the vicinity of Rick's Cafe.

Rastagirl.....the event is being held at Roughhouse's Yard. You know...where they sell the RoughHouse Roots and Honey!!!!

Oh, duh - I've been to this gig before. My godson was supposed to be there, I was out of town until yesterday. Hope the rain didn't get you guys too down and I'll try to make it over tonight.
