Out:
- Frozen key lime juice (squoze from the key limes from the tree in my yard). Passed
- Frozen Ackee - this year I'm going to attempt that
- Cuban Cigars - every year up until a few years ago when the trusted store I bought them from went out of business. Always took the bands off. Passed
- 30-50 pounds coffee - every year, always passed but I don't think that was quite a "smuggle"
- Leaf of Life cutting - DENIED! It was about 13 years ago....hub and I were not dressed in "Customs Clothes" and looked like a couple of freaks so we got pulled out for a search. Those guys went right by the Cubans (wrapped in clothing) and dug into my husband's shoe and found the effin' thing. After much discussion they returned it to us. That was before we had a Green House so the plant died Sad

In:
- The best...a vacuum cleaner. Yes, they went through our bags that time and the only thing they complained about was that they found 3 cartons of cigarettes - we're only allowed 2 (one per person). Went right by the portable Oreck. Gave me the carton back and never found the other two cartons (I used to bring down 5 cartons of American Spirits back when they were $35/carton.
- I have to go to New York for work for a week while I'm here in JA. The list is growing. So far I have to carry back deli meat, egg rolls and bagels. The plan...wrap it all REALLY well, put it in the bottom of my small carry on duffle and plop all my dirty underwear on top of it. I'll let you know how it goes.

Well, the funniest thing that I brought into Jamaica was viagra.
An acquaintance asked me if I would bring some for a friend, she used to work doctor . Anyways, not all of it made it because someone recognized the little blue pills and helped themselves to a few pills. (and my deet towelettes) I never told my husband what I had done til we arrived and we had a few beers.
In the end I found the mystery person and made the drop.

take out? himself Smile (soon come blah blah blah)

take in? when I was building I took lots of stuff. I went every 3 months for 2.5 years and paid $200 in over weight luggage each time. duh!!!!!

two chairs, duvet, bedding, kitchen taps, garden hose, garden tools, dvd player, alarm system, dishes etc.

never got nabbed by customs.

Once a couple of decades ago I brought 50 lbs of school supplies. I was proud as punch when I told the customs people I was bringing this stuff for the locals and the school we sponsor. They just laughed and sent me on my way.

In the mid 80's I used to send packages by mail. But the recipients never received them so I stopped doing that.

Always bring back.. Ackee (parboiled); curried goat; curried shrimp.. lobster meat (out of the shell) Noni Juice, Roots Tonic, Fresh Ginger (just does not taste the same here); bush tea and escovitch (just the veggie mix) I use it on everything and sometimes eat it as is..

They did confiscate some cans of sardines I had some years ago.. not sure what the infraction was...but left the cans of tuna.. go figure...

Had some of the curried goat for lunch... still taste fresh from the island..

When I was 17 and knew I knew everything, I went home for xmas break from University and on my way back to school a family member sent some rum with me for another family member in Fla (plus some for myself). I refused to carry the cooked food or parboild ackee they wanted to send and KNEW that the rum would be no problem. YUP how did I not know that the drinking age in the USA was 21 and a 17yo with 4 bottles of rum would be a problem.

I was smart though I opened all 4 and emptied them in the garbage can right there in front of the immi officer.

Going home for a visit as an adult with a couple of friends I brought stuff to lighten the load for my Mom having to feed extra people, among that was a couple cans of ground coffee and couple jars of instant. yeah they got taken...because DUMBASS me declared them. Should have packed them with the tourists and gone through the nothing to declare line .

Another time (adult) fell in love with rum cream but also had to have J Wray overproof because they didnt sell it in Canada... bought waaaay over the limit but just decided to pay the duty. Got up to customs and the guy asked the normal questions and I said "I have 3 bottles of such an such in this bag and 2 bottles of such an such in that bag and 2 bottles of this in this bag and this (which was a 3 pack of rum from duty free) poor guy was so confused he just checked me off and away I went
