Longtimers- Whats Negril Weather Like in January? - JASpirit - 12-06-2011

I am familiar with Negril Weather from March - Sept.
But would like to understand more the weather from Jan-Feb.

February weather was described as 'perfecto' in the recent discussion, and December was described as colder.
What is the weather and vibes like in January?
Is January colder than Feb?
After New Years- is Jan busy? Or does it not get busy until February?
I have been told that by the third week in Jan, its warm again. Is this true?
-So its getting warmer every week in Jan? Is it true February is Sunnier than Jan? Is the water warmer in Feb than Jan? Lots of questions!

Any info is appreciated.

In 34 years of going, I've been once in January lol. It was perfect weather. 85 ish degrees daily.

Every year is different.

I'm in Negril every January.

January and February are of the dryer months here...not much rain compared to other winter months. However, the weather does depend a lot on what kind of winter the North Eastern US and Canada are having. If there is a good enough cold front up north we feel the effects of it down here.

The last couple of years, the middle and end of January has had some serious Christmas breeze - that is, wind, high seas and cooler temps due winter conditions up north. These systems can last about a week to two weeks.

Other times - sunny, clear and warm with a good breeze. I'd say daytime temps range from 80-85 - night time from 75-80.
