Waiting patiently (well, really NOT) for some decent prices to pop up. Usually by now i've got my Feb. vaca all booked by like a few months ago.
I'm waitinggggggggg !!

Feb is booked......waiting for end of May prices.......

I booked 2/1-15 not too long ago because I did get a decent fare, under $400. Maybe I got lucky. It'll be my first time going that time of year. Retirement perk! Planning to use FF miles for summer.

In my experience, I have often got a cheap flight waiting until the last minute (less than a week to departure date). That is for Toronto to MoBay. Last November we paid $147 CDN total, taxes incl. per person, return on Thomas Cook Airline. That was the lowest price in thirty years of travel to Jamaica. However that was a very rare price, and the deals are almost always for seven days only. I think a good deal these days is anything under $400 return. If you want a longer stay the deals are tougher to find.

I feel ya Wendy. No Christmas trip for us this year. Charters are not even starting up til 12/26 and they want a little over 2000 bucks for the two of us to fly, AIN'T happenin'!

In general I find that airfares are up around 30% this year.

I fly FF each year to JA. Call it a perk of flying god-knows-everywhere else for the rest of the year and spending dear money to do it.

BUT...this year I have an interesting situation. I actually have to LEAVE JA for 5 days and go to NY in (eegads) end of JANUARY. Aside from shipping my winter clothing there I have to decide if I'm going to use miles again or pay for it...so I'm jumping on the airfare search soon 'nuff. Like today actually. I'll let you know what I find!

Yep Jenny! I guess all those years of cheap charters out STL are done. Good lord though- we didn't expect "cheap" at Christmas but 2,035.00 for us to fly AND then not arrive until AFTER Christmas???? Nope, mi cyaan manage!

I just check AA, MBJ-JFK. First, all the flight SUCK. Not one non-stop. And all over $450.00. Checked Delta, same price, no non-stop. I can deal with a stop if I fly AA...bumba. I so DON'T want to have to do this
