while in negril last week, i spotted william and his dogs on the side of the road close to sunset at the palms . . . that's at the beginning of negril, don't know how he got so far!!! there was a young man selling patties on his bicycle that had already stopped before me and had given william food, he seems to know him a lot, i asked what we could feed the dogs out of his basket of goods. he pulled out this bun and said "this" so i broke it up and the dogs ate it. i gave them water and gave william some bills. he was grateful. he asked if i could take him back to negril. . . . i loaded him and the dogs in the car and drove him back as far as jar b's. that's where he wanted to get out.

the patti young man told me that he was at this spot since yesterday and that he wished there was some sort of help for william . . . so do i!!

if anyone spots him, please, at least feed him and his dogs. by the way, william was very grateful for the little bit of money i gave him and the ride.

To you Jitters for your empathy and concern..

I am very surprised that he gets so far down the beach road. When I was there last winter he walked the beach and was often seen with 1 -2 dogs. At that time he seemed to be doing alright and folks were helping him out ...both tourists and locals.

I worry that he has for some reason moved off the beach. It is not safe for him to be that far up. I think this was the area that Jamaicame also spotted him back sometime in the summer and reported. I wonder if a church could get involved with his care...at least a place for him to find shelter and a meal. I wonder if anyone goes and gets him for the meals that are provided in Negril.. Does anyone know?

Wehn I go down in November I will keep an eye out for him and the dogs.
