I have a funny story about pumpkin soup in Negril.

Ok, I was chillin in my room, maybe taking a light cat nap.

We need to find the soup man.

The soup man.
I'm not feeling too well, i need some pumkin soup.

I was wide awake now.
Soup?
You want to go get soup? Now?

Yeah mon, she said.

So, she jumped in the shower and started to get ready.

Soon (hahha) she was ready.
I washed my face and said "i'm ready lets go.

It was during spring break time and the cooks were lined out in force.

All lined up and down the beach road.

We walked a bit, but she could not find the soup guy.

"He's down de road a bit" one vendor said.

We were passing grill after gril.
It seemed like we walked for miles.
"Hey baby, that guy we just passed was really throwing down on the grill!!

Look at all that smoke!

"No mon, Mi need de pumpkin soup mon.
Sigh, ok, so we walked, and walked.

She was stopping and asking the vendors question.

They would say something and point.

Ok, babydoll, where is this guy?

"Just a little more" she told me.

She had hold of my hand and would not let go.

She dragged me further and further from our hotel.

I was feeling a little grumpy and wanted to head back and get something else.

No, no, we must find the soup man.

I tell you, the things we do for love.

Finally, she yelled "Souppy" or something like that.

I looked up and this guy had a bunch of extra large pots and tops.
Steam rising all around him.

And the aroma, my god it was overwhelming.

She ran up to him like he was her long lost father.

Are you happy now, I said.

Man, I was weary and tired, looking, and searching for this one and only soup dude.

She got a large cup of Pumpkin soup and said "here, taste this.

Hot steam was rising off the spoon, so i blew on it and took it in.

Now, i have a very good palate when it comes to food and this was like ambrosia from the gods.

Pure heavenly nectar Apollo and Zeus probably savored at one time or another.

Man o man, wow!!

I ran back and got another cup to go.
"See, see" she said. I told you how good it was.
