I have been scouring the Internet to find the credit card with the best reward available. So far I got the Citi Premier with 50,000 points ($125 annual fee), Citi Checking with 25,000 points (small balance), my usual citi Preferred card with 5 points for each dollar spend on grocery and gas. I wanted to close out an older citi card so I called customer service. They offered me 3000 points to keep it open. I called and asked them to lower the fee on my new Premier card, they said NO. I called inquired about closing it and the lovely gentleman offered me a statement credit of $85. He suggested paperless statement for another 2000 points PLUS 300 point for the next 6 months. I need 45K to 60K for a flight to Jamaica.

the government eliminated the puchace of coins with a credit card or dept card on 7-22-2011.so ppl dont abuse the frequent flyer programs.too bad,that was a good way to rack them up.
