Hi All, does anyone here know Kingston very well or know how to get a hold of Tracy (I think she's the one that lives in Kingston). I just got a message from a friend who has to go to the University of West Indies for 3 days for work. She's never been to JA and I've never been to Kingston. She's looking for some assistance on hotel, finding a trusted driver, suggestions on things to do (she'll have 2 mornings free), places to eat, etc.

I just sent her a message back asking when she will be there and what her hotel budget is. She mentioned that she was thinking about the Knutsford Court hotel because it's close to the airport and she has an early flight out when she leaves but I don't know if the area around the airport is a good neighborhood. Plus she said it's 20 min. from the University where in my opinion she'd be better off staying close to the University. But again, I don't know that area either.

Any help would be appreciated.

Tracy is my FB friend....she is Tracy Miller Voelk....I'm sure she would be happy to answer questions. You could also try to contact Liz Maher....she's on FB & on this board & TA. She's spent quite a lot of time in Kgn, & knows about the hotels there.

I am not sure how close either place would be for her, but I have found two favorite spots in Kingston -

The first is Cityview - It's so peaceful and gorgeous, and they are so sweet there - I am sure they would coordinate taxis, etc... for her, and it includes a full breakfast.

The second is the Liguanea Club - it's right behind Emancipation Park - a bit older of rooms, but clean and comfy, and it's a great property - very secure and quiet, you do not realize you are right downtown, and it has a huge pool, plus tennis, etc...
