future of Negril - sunray - 06-28-2011

Hello everyone, I've been "lurking" enjoying the board for some time now, learning even more about the runnings of Negril. I've been visiting Negril since the early 80's, so have seen a lot of the changes. (example, the closing of T-water, the disappearance of the sea views from the road, as developments filled all the property along the beach). My first vacation to Negril was to Hedonism, discovered that the real Jamaica was outside the gates of the crazy resort, and have stayed at small Ja. owned properties on the cliffs and beach ever since. I have lost count of the number of times I have reached
Negril, but always look forward to the next time.
For a topic of discussion I would like to ask, how does everybody see the future unfolding for Negril (and Jamaica). I love Jamaica, but worry that with so many challenges, as in much of the world, will we ever truely be able to return to the Negril pictured in our thoughts?
