All aboard!!!

Choo Choo!
The train pulled out of Union Station Chicago at 9:30P.M. on the dot.

This was going to be an all night train ride to Rochester, New york for the graduation.

I had a seat next to an old retired guy from Syracuse, NY.

He had just come from Colorado and told me all about it.

He was an electrical engineer for IBM back in the 50-60"s.

I could not really fall asleep sitting in my reclined seat.

I only nodded for a couple of hours at a time.

It was really cool watching the lights of the small towns and cities we passed throughout the night.

Elkhart, Indiana, Toledo Ohio., some towns in Pennsylvania.

Alot of grape vines, I guess vineyards were just off the tracks.

We pulled in to Rochester, New york at 10:00 A.M. and my daughter and her roommate was there waiting for me.

The hotel said check in is at 3:00 PM, that gave us alot of time to kill.

So, we had a big long breakfast at a local place and sat and had coffee until about 1:00 PM.

We headed over to the hotel and the clerk says

"yes sir, your room is ready".

Cool, we were there at about 1:30 PM

Later that day my daughter's mom flew in and she stayed at the same hotel.

No hanky panky, so don't you guys get any ideas.

The graduating class was huge and took a long time.

The air conditioning was on full blast and was freezing at the graduation in auditorium,

I took over an hour for my daughter's name to be called.

As soon as my daughter walked across that stage and got her diploma, I took pics and headed outside for some warm air.

That was Saturday afternoon.

We all went out for an early dinner and then My daughter and her mom went shopping for some RIT school sweatshirts and other memorabilia.

I woke up Sunday and we all jumped in my daughter's car and headed back to Chicago.

It was really cool watching the lights of the small towns and cities we passed throughout the night.

That sounds like fun.
