JaJewel or someone who knows Lionfish - Tanya - 04-16-2011

I have a question regarding the Lionfish.

Where do they live?

More specifically, would one run in to a lion fish out swimming (not snorkeling) just regular beach swim.

How poisonous are they? and are they aggressive to humans?

Here is an excellent link to answer your questions: http://www.deathtolionfish.org/facts.html

I do not think they are aggressive to humans...seems also like they are very easy to spear since they have no natural enemies in our seas so don't tend to hide, nor swim away fast.

They have really taken over the waters halfway down the east coast of America & most of the Caribbean islands....now working on S. America.

Learn to eat them if you can get them, Tanya....they are delicious!
