There are a multitude of English words that Yardies have purposely molded into their own version....here are a few that I can think of at the moment.....cum wid oono own!
I'm typing the English word first & then the Ja. version:

jelly = young coconut
jello = jelly or jam
pomegranite = pranganut
certificate = serfiticket
film = flim
bowl = basin
something = sintin or ting (can be used for ANYTHING that they can't think of the name of, at the moment!)
nutmeg = nutneg
faucet = mixer
any veg. that grows indergroun & is starchy = food
eat = nyam (of African origin)

Com'on folks....you must know some! Yardie language is so creative & colorful....one thing that makes it interesting to live here & be immersed in patois!
