ok, for you living on island or long stay - wendy - 03-15-2011

folks.
question.....what do you 'have' to have in your home in JA to make you feel at home ?? is there something you brought from U.S./U.K/CANADA or where ever your're home base is that is special to you ?
why i ask this is while working today i was thinking of spring and getting into the yard. for some reason i was thinking 'bird houses', waiting to see if possibly my blue birds would be back to hatch their young ones again. then got to thinking..hmmmmm, i don't see bird houses in JA in folks yards. why ? suppose they have the bush, but yet we have the woods. so strangely enuf i'm thinking of bringing a bird house or have someone make one, am i strange in thinking of this ??

I have carried hummingbird feeders down a couple of times...but the hummers never come to it...I suppose there is so many real flowers that grab their attention faster...

Took me a while to think of something, as wherever I 'make' my home soon feels homey to me.

I used to be attached to antique-y things (esp family items), as I liked that connection and also wanted to preserve the items, like the little white apron that was my mother's when she was a little girl, and she stitched her name on it; items like that.

Anyway, what I bring to give me comfort and grounding, are a journal and my Vision Board, a few thoughts and writings that have come my way, and a couple books.

Last summer I had the urge to paint so I brought supplies and a few of the paintings with me. I only used the supplies once, but have enjoyed the paintings, hung using clip hangers and Command removeable hooks... altho if the breeze is strong it can take them, lol.
