Zimbali Retreats - Eco - 03-07-2011

Zimbali Retreats facebook: https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100001724568420

I was talking to them tonight online @ FB and they really seem down to earth. Sort of crappy timing since I just booked my two open days on the west coast 30 minutes before they responded to my request from last week but if I can stay there for two nights I'll rework the other booking.

With two exceptions, I've never seen a real eco/green lodging place in Jamaica! Their whole concept is hopefully a trend setter for eco lodging in Jamaica.

dang check out the - Seveen - 03-07-2011

i met mark 5 years or so ago

i'm glad to see he got his dream up and running

looks like he has a lovely family as well

this could be the place that makes me want to go back to jamaica

Re: Zimbali Retreats - doctoro - 03-07-2011

I found Mark and Alicia to both be pretty down to earth also. I had gone up to the other place also and found it interesting and was sad when things changed, but seems now Mark and Alicia are offering the best of both worlds a hill/mountain retreat as well as a Seaside retreat. There is a 2 night minimum stay at each place with an additional cost for a daily meal plan with food from their own gardens as well as natural juices, which is encouraged because the place is so secluded, also for an additional fee they can provide alcoholic beverages. Sort of reminds me of Great Huts in Port Antonio another Eco friendly/teaching place.

I am looking forward to going up and spending time with them soon. With the nice and accommodating vibe coming from them both I am sure this will be a successful venture. Nice Folks.

I was also told by both to let people know that they welcome visitors coming up for a tour of the place. Eco maybe when you come this side might be a good spot for a boardie meet up.
