45th anniversary of Selassie - Eco - 01-31-2011

A few weeks ago I saw this link about a big 45 year celebration of Salassie in JA. http://jamaica-gleaner.com/gleaner/20110102/lead/lead6.html

Every since then I've been keeping my eyes open for details so I could make it part of my trip. Now that I'm in my planning stages I would like to know some more details but can't even find them where the event is suppose to happen.... (link)---> http://www.trelawnystadium.com/Trelawny_Stadium.php

The 1st year I was ever to Jamaica ,when I was 18 years old That is the year Selassie came to Jamaica and I was there.Selassie had NO IDEA !!!!!!!! why or how they began using him (H.I.M)as a "leader".90% of Jamaicans had no idea who he was,me neither.Now I'm not a real strong religious guy BUT !!!! I do believe and respect religions and have never heard of Haille Selassie being mentioned in any book.Personally,like most I consider Selassie as a very smart,peace loving leader but the leader of a "faith"...I don't know about that and he never did neither.I wasn't a tourist ,it was the year I got my FOREVER !!!! work visa.Compared to today the "coli weed" would hardly get a fly high,it's not much wonder the locals always had a spliff stuck in their mouths.I guess looking back on it ,it might have been the best thing for future tourism there was,too bad he didn't return.
