Redoing my bathroom..any ideas - DAWN - 01-23-2011

I am redoing my bathroom which has had the same solid decor since it was built in 1982. I have tan toilet, sink and tub. A big rectangular mirror and two hanging little lights with a brushed finish to it.

I want to go with a sunny yellow but am open to floor and fixture ideas..got lots of shells and a heap of sarongs to play with ...

Any ideas? for flooring, towel holders or decor?

well, you could start with what you have...
sarongs can be made into a shower curtain overlay and curtains...you could paint the walls a complimentary color, such as the yellow you love...
then i would pick out a tile for the floor and do it yourself...sometimes you can find a really reputable company that will paint or refurbish and paint your tub the color of your choice if it is still in good condition...while doing that you can be saving for new toilet/sink/mirror/etc. (a toilet is not very hard to put in yourself and sometimes you can get a really nice one at a salvage company for cheap)
one thing i like to do for a change is get a really fancy showerhead like a rainmaker etc...and i put art on the walls of the bathroom too. small gradual changes help make the big decisions.
