drugs in negril - rootswoman - 01-20-2011
I was reading a thread elsewhere which triggered my memory. Has this happened to anyone else?
Last year Dread and I were at Travelers sitting in the restaurant at the tables closest to the beach.
A guy passed us and said "heroin" I was so taken aback, I asked Dread if I heard correctly and he wasn't sure. Awhile later, sure enough, he came back and said "heroin" again.
That hustler sure was ballsy to approach a middle aged couple while dinning.
Has anyone else encountered this?
I have come across enough crack and cocaine sellers but, besides from my first trip, this was the first time I was offered heroin.
Having lived in Europe for many years i know that there is lots and lots of heroin there. Merills does a lot of Italian package deals and having worked with a lot of italian tourist in Greece, i could imagine that there may be a market for it at the merills resorts. There must be a market or I can't imagine that guy would have been so bold.
any one else encounter this bold dude?

Can't say I've been offered heroin, no.
Coke is about as hard a drug as I've ever been offered...in Jamaica. Jamaica has nothing on a US hippie fest like Hookahville or Bonnaroo. I've been offered everything under the sun at those.

'chasing the dragon' in Negril isn't new.
going on there for at least 10-15 years now
