ot, re: set the anchor - CardBoardBox - 09-17-2023 OT, you sometimes weave a tale which is compelling/inspiring/??. Such was the case with the 2 part River Safety. I didn't want to hyjack the river story, but wondering if you could supply a visual aid of what the boat looks like. It was just yesterday I watched a video about a slipping anchor and the damage it caused to 2 ships and a dock. 2 anchor lines - big ship, tight parking, strong currents & winds, bad choice and bad instruction from the harbor master (?). RE: ot, re: set the anchor - oldtimer - 09-17-2023 The boat is 44'11'' long X 17' wide X6'draft' It is 17tons heavy and can carry 20tons of fish It is a lobster /herring/tuna/scallop boat . Just look up Northumberland Strait lobster boat and you will see what it looks like . RE: ot, re: set the anchor - CardBoardBox - 09-18-2023 I looked. Thanks. No humor here about no oar locks. I just wanted a better mental image of having to back up 1.5 miles with a 4 knot current/tide surge hitting the bow. RE: ot, re: set the anchor - oldtimer - 09-18-2023 Well now you know . |
