New hospital under construction - kylake - 05-23-2020 Here are a couple of pictures (two different angles) of the new hospital that is under construction in Negril. It will be a private hospital from what I am told. Construction was moving along when we were there in this winter and spring but no telling how much C-19 has slowed the process. RE: New hospital under construction - kylake - 05-24-2020 On the way into town coming from Rutland Point before you get to the bridge. By private I assume that simply means it is a hospital that will only take patients with money in their pocket or a credit card unlike the public hospitals in Sav, Lucea, etc. It will be a good addition since Jamaica as a whole really leaves a bit to be desired as far as healthcare facilities go. I hope it is setup to be a trauma center as that would be a game changer for Negril.
