Somebody post something - West end lover - 03-28-2019
We all have a Jamaican story to tell. Small or large,I need some ideas and stories for a book I am writing, it’s a total fiction book.looking for filler.
I will post one story tomorrow

Here’s one of mine...... I always wanted to go up the river by roundabout, so we did one year. Found a fisherman to take us up to the bridge past old palm preserve.
We decided to turn around there, put motor in reverse and all I see is motor lifting off transom and swoosh it’s gone. Straight to bottom. Fisherman never secured it properly.
He jumped in and put rope around it. We all tugged on it til it surfaced. Attached back onto boat. We all knew what needed to be done, spark plugs should come out, pull on starter rope to get water out of pistons. Guess what.....no spark plug wrench. He found piece of metal and used something as hammer and remarkably got them out. We all took turns pulling starter rope til no more water came out. I dried plugs with my shorts and a lighter. Replaced plugs and we all took turns pulling on it for a half hour. Then sputter, sputter and eventually vroom. She started up back to Negril. I promised fisherman I would never tell story with his name attached. But every time I see him we have a good chuckle.

Nothing more weird than reading someone's story and realizing its your own. (Fuck Facebook for that shit).

Seriously. I'd be pretty pissed if someone ripped off my stories so they could "write" a book. Just not cool in any way.

Tah. I don’t like you. I didn’t say I was gonna actually write someone else’s stories. Was going to just use some ideas as filler, like names of places and such. I will use the name Tah tho and it will be an uptight know it all that actually knows nothing and is a proud member of NAMBLA.

Testy! It has happened where I relate a story - not even a really interesting one and I find it again on one of those idiot Negril boards on Facebook in the first person. Take my pix, not my experiences. So yeah, even though I didn't mean to hurt your feelings and I'm sorry if I did - as a hobby writer, journal-person I've always written what I KNOW. My personal experiences embellished through my imagination not through someone elses stories.
And good books don't have filler. You need a name of something? Its called research.
Everyone thinks they are the next F. Scott Fitzgerald, geez!
