Rhodes Hall Plantation versus Half Moon - Pedro#1 - 07-09-2018

I like the idea of private beach and close to shore coral reef.  No hustlers and no hassles.  Just a quick 10 mile trip to my favorite spots in Negril and then back to peace and quiet.  Leaning towards RHP for 25th anniversary.  Any reasons to also consider Half Moon?  Thanks!

These are two very different resorts. Half Moon has a gorgeous beach, but it is expensive. If you want to be close to Negril, then definitely RHP.

Stayed there once , Feb . 09 .  Great spot ; agree with ot , I wonder .
Half Moon Beach is  lovely , but the accommodations are rustic .  For a special occasion , 25th ,  Rhodes would be a better choice .   Don't overlook Point Village , and Little Bay CC , as hassle free ,  but close .

Thanks for the info JamaGinger.  I was definitely thinking Green Island 1/2 Moon but wow...MoBay 1/2 Moon is very impressive!  I am more of a Hanover / Westmoreland guy.

Personally I like the "feeling" of Half Moon Beach better than Rhodes Hall - not as much concrete, bigger beach, "wild and natural". But, as stated the accomodations are VERY rustic so if you want more of a "luxury" feel one of the villas at Rhodes might be more to your liking.

You can't really snorkel offshore at either place. If you are a strong swimmer you can swim out to the reef.
