so 37 years ago Bob Marley died this Friday - Sharleen - 05-09-2018 And his funeral was the biggest Jamaica has ever hosted.  His music lives on and on too.  I know O.T. you used to see him in Jamaica before he was famous, when it was just him and assorted Wailers and crew seemed to be all over the island..  Very approachable, very friendly.  He used to be in Negril and Little Bay all the time too & had great plans for a solar operated music studio in Little Bay.  This is a short clip of the magnitude and sadness of his funeral: RE: so 37 years ago Bob Marley died this Friday - jamaicajeanne - 05-10-2018 Very powerful clip. The company I worked for knew the owner so we got the only condo finished so it was us and the workers . This is in the timeline that Byron Lee was helping all these upstart bands and he arranged to use the bandstand as a practice set up .We , as in us and the workers , got tons and tons of free jams/practice from the likes of The Wailers , Freddie MacGregor , Black Uhuruh , and many many more .Looking back on it now what a fantastic time that was for us . We talked to these guys all the time .You could tell that Bob Marley was different than the rest . Thinking now about it all I can say is " WOW ".
