Definitely been a problem....We used to go to Isla Mujeres all the time and used the Ultramar Ferry service. Have been to Cozumel a time or two but again used the Ultramar Ferry service. Rumor has it the cartel put some explosive devices on another ferry service that mainly does not transport riders and more for commercial transfers. That said the explosion was on the side of the ferry facing the dock and got inocent bystanders walking to and from Ultramar Ferries.

The explosion was initially blamed on mechanical failure as noted in the NBC video.
So it was a bomb? YIKES!!!
That's even worse than getting bombed on the windshield-washing-fluid-laced moonshine at the resorts.

A friend of mine saw this happen. He spends his winter's there and is in the fishing business here and is a commercial diver .He says it was set !!! If you look at the portside there is debris that flies out at the time of explosion . This is not stuff that should/need to be on board .
