It's a pretty significant song in Jamaica's history with Belafonte's calypso album being the first million seller in 1957 just ahead of Jamaica's Independence. Thought it might generate more comments. It certainly got played at every resort across the island for decades.
There is also a book by that name that I have 'someplace' around my house. I can't remember the author but one of the workers at his parents (sounding rather) a very nice house had a housekeeper with a very beautiful, but mentally challenged daughter, who started having children very young because she called sex 'playing' with her friends.
