RE: Hit Me With Music - oldtimer - 09-27-2017 Listened to these tunes during breakfast . Some good some not so much . I think the best of the Marley's is Damian . The rest would not have made it if it was not for their last name...in my opinion. They sing of Trenchtown but I don't think any of them ever lived in Jamaica . They live in Miami . Thanks for the tunes . RE: Hit Me With Music - Firemon - 09-29-2017 Don't disagree OT and thanks for commenting. They weren't all hits, but still worth a listen, or in some cases a viewing. I especially enjoyed the happy scenes in Everything is Irie with all the food (ackee, breadfruit) in the kitchen, jamming at the local bar playing dominoes and dice, etc. My favorite tune was Island Girl--most likely because of the steel drums. After that Empress Akua impressed me with her bluesy number. Reminded me of Nina Simone. |
