1913 Jamaica - Firemon - 08-11-2016 Here we see some extremely rare footage of Jamaica life in the year 1913, including Montego Bay, Market Square, a logwood forest, and Bouge Island, where oysters grow on trees. http://www.liveleak.com/view?i=ebc_1464569247 RE: 1913 Jamaica - Oldtimer2 - 08-12-2016 Thanks !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I was wondering if there was still a rail line so googled a bit and it appears it was closed in 1990's but there is talk of reviving again. http://www.jamaicaobserver.com/news/The-train-is-coming----again_45539 RE: 1913 Jamaica - Mattjamaica - 09-17-2016 [attachment=2520][attachment=2519]The Clarendon Express as seen operating in April 2011. RE: 1913 Jamaica - Oldtimer2 - 09-17-2016 where does it go. RE: 1913 Jamaica - Mattjamaica - 09-17-2016 OT, they had the line from Spanish Town to May Pen open and the line from Spanish Town to Linestead open. They were the only two routes they ran for several months for passenger service. A friend worked at the down town train terminal and said they were going to fix it up, but no trains to Kingston at that time becasue of a rail bridge that was down between Spanish Town and Town. RE: 1913 Jamaica - Mattjamaica - 09-17-2016 They even repainted the Linestead train station in anticipation of the first arrival as shown below.
