(FREE!) - Firemon - 08-08-2016 Big big crowd. Just a sea of people. Wailers started playing promptly at 8 p.m. (Try and imagine a headliner playing that early in Jamaica.) The stage was the backside of the famed Mayo Medical Clinic and the initially unenthusiastic faces of the musicians reflected they were (and had been) in an extended No Toking Zone. I theorized that explained the absence of Family Man. But the music and the enthusiastic crowd response got the band into a nice groove, and along the river in Rochester was a sweet place to be for nearly two hours as they played one incredible song after another. Favorite moment was when two little girls (ages 4-5) climbed the security barrier and clung to the top rung right in front of the stage to get a closer look and the singer spotted them and directed his gaze and lyrics to them as he sang "Could you be loved" causing them to gush with excitement eyes wide looking at one another. |
