I am close to the same as Ohliz. I have no definate plans for our next trip to Jamaica, pretty sure we are going to Costa Rica in November, and will be spending Christmas with wifes parents this year.
Part of the reason also is the attitude by a very select few. People have been turned off as their opinions don't really count as they don't "live" there 2 months of the year.

Three months. This year will be three months...first time in about 6 or 7 years I've been able to carve out that much time.

I am a bit surprised that so many fall into the "Afraid of negative consequences if I do post" column. What's up with that?

I typically lurk unless two things happen. One being the subject is actually interesting to more than two or three regular contributors, which isn't often anymore, and the second being if I have something to say about the subject that likely won't be criticized by a couple of members who have issue with me for some unknown reason. It's not fun anymore.

I do check in but don't always post. I love reading and seeing pictures. Seeing positive things and am typically pretty quiet anyway. Have a great weekend.

If you spend enough time here you will realize the reason. The "elite' few that know everything and aren't afraid to let you know it LOL.

I don't think it is as simple as what you stated in reply to Streamertail and I will post more on that.
To me this board is about Jamaica but also you can post other trip reports and just any information you like or find interesting. That to me actually makes this board better than others and it is not so controlled, edited, as other boards like TA and Utter board. If there is truth out there concerning Jamaica you can find it here and it won't be purged.
If more people post more information on Jamaica here instead of just lurking it will be an even more truthfully informative board and realistic to what is actually happening. That is the whole reason for the thread...to get more people involved.

I have not been posting as no matter what I did I could not get in......finally did and I am the original poster Raine, so just added 22 to Raine and here I am....have been trying for the past almost six months to get back in and finally did.

What's up with that?I posted that question on purpose in the poll and actually expect it to be the highest number in the poll when it ends and will be surprised if it is not.
Tim posted one reason and it is valid. That said I think there are multiple reasons people might be afraid of negative consequences.
1. Tim's reason, Thanks for bring that to the front Tim.
2. People on the ground in Jamaica whether expats or Jamaican by birth may not what to post what they "know" (especially on negative news) because of real consequences that could endanger them or family.
3. I have no real true verification but I have heard another competing board moderator has chastised members of his board that double post using this board. Truth or fiction.....I don't know.
4. There could be even more reasons and if there are please let me know by private message and I will update this post.
