Book - Brief History of Seven Killings - JonTom - 01-26-2016

I finally got (as a Christmas present) and finished the Marlon James book ("Brief History of Seven Killings") that was discussed a bit on here and won the Man Booker Award.

Great book, but 688 pages! Definitely epic and sweeping (and complicated). Even if I didn't know some of the historical events/people that are sort of woven into the novel, it would be a good read.

I saw an article a few days ago that he is giving the speech this year at the Marley event at his alma mater (UWI). Unfortunately some of the comments on the article were predictably hateful (b/c of his sexual orientation, presumably).
