Another mis-heard lyric? Carry Go Bring Come - JonTom - 07-29-2015

I was surprised to see an article today with the quote:

"Miss carry go bring come, my dear" was the opening line of a ska-era hit song by Justin Hinds and the Dominoes.

I'd always heard it as "THIS carry ...." and several lyrics websites show the same.
I suppose the meaning isn't altered much. Meaning being in the ear of the beholder or whatever.

IIRC, it was a veiled reference to Edna Manley ( or some politician of the day's wife) - I think I got that from some liner notes or maybe a history of ska-reggae type book. But J Hinds never admitted it.

Ironic ?? (or maybe why the article writer chose this song) that the next lines "It's time you stopped doing those things, you old Jezebel" and one of the main marks against Gordon Webley is her calling PM PS Miller "jezebel".

Not something one should say in general but particularly not if you want to jump ship to PSM's party.
