I suppose there are many things that can inspire such anger/hostility in JA, but always interesting, to me, to keep the cultural differences in mind.

It makes me wonder if she told the crowd that the guy didn't have a clue how to do it right and was complaining about it. I cannot imagine bragging about a good time would piss the guy off enough to kill her. But then again, I've been told that oral sex is frowned upon in Jamaican culture so her saying anything about it to anyone may have ticked the guy off because he didn't want the public to know he enjoyed it. One of those strange Jamaican perception things that makes you go hmmm.

Shaming is a big part of the culture and it will get you hurt or killed. True or not, good or bad, she said it to shame it and that cost her life.

"Real" Jamaican men don't go down on women - period.  And if outed as not being a "real" Jamaican man I would imagine that would cause some hostility.

Head shakers some things huh?  Don't even get me started on women's underwear.  For men who can be so sexually motivated the idea of the "pum" is both overwhelming and disgusting to them at the same time.  Which is why, two years ago when I "commuted" to work from Negril to NY and back, I smuggled pounds of deli meat back in my "clean" underwear Smile
