The Mighty Diamonds - Firemon - 01-21-2015 Okay, so I couldn't make it to Rebel Salute. Never fear the Mighty Diamonds are coming to Minneapolis! This Friday night at the Cedar Cultural Center! "Roots reggae originals the Mighty Diamonds bring their sweet harmonies and conscious lyrics to The Cedar! Since forming in 1969 in the Trenchtown area of Kingston, Jamaica, The Mighty Diamonds—Donald “Tabby” Shaw, Fitzroy ”Bunny” Simpson and Lloyd “ Judge” Ferguson--have carried the flag for harmony-rich reggae with a strong Rastafarian influence." http://www.thecedar.org/events/2015/01/23/mighty-diamonds RE: The Mighty Diamonds - Firemon - 01-21-2015 Tour info indicates multiple upcoming shows in Colorado and California. https://www.facebook.com/TheMightyDiamonds RE: The Mighty Diamonds - rastagirl777 - 01-22-2015 I've seen them a couple of times in Negril - once at Bourbon Beach and another time at a private party. Love them! RE: The Mighty Diamonds - Firemon - 01-23-2015 Pre-show party underway here in St. Paul. I and I in Right Time mode. http://www.twincitiesreggae.com/ai1ec_event/mighty-diamonds-with-dj-wet-ink/?instance_id=369 RE: The Mighty Diamonds - Firemon - 01-27-2015 Here they are! Lead singer Judge (center) looking resplendent in brightly colored shirt alongside Bunny and Tabby. Tried to shoot a video with my phone but the sound is too distorted. But I did manage to gather their signatures on a Jamaican flag. One of the more memorable moments from their show wasn't musical at all. It came when they introduced themselves one by one towards the end telling their own personal story for approx 5-min apiece. You never see that. Hello audience--this is who I am. Aside from playing their own old-school hits they also covered the Melodian's "swing and dine" which was nice.
