Last year an increase in the abuse of gays and the reported cases of child abuse.
"Our police officers are not averse to person's orientation" - what a bold face lie!
"Most in the gully are rejected by their families, that can't be the responsibility of the government" - You idiot, yes it is, CHILD PROTECTIVE SERVICES is needed when families fail children.
"Jamaica's overwhelmingly CHRISTIAN population" - where men sleep around, too many kids born out of wedlock, and a shameful high crime rate.
"What is fisting, felching, rimming and scat chariot racing"
"What is Jamaica's normal and postive aspect of human sexuality" - fidelity?
" You need a good F*&$ to STRAIGHTEN yuh out"

There is also a similar documentary featuring many of the same young men, available on you tube( my iPad is not letting me paste the link) it was a channel 4 doc by unreported world if anyone is interested in it.
Looking at the news in china today may give hope for the future in Jamaica. China has a similarly poor human rights on homosexuality (and lots of others IMO) with homosexuality apparently only being declassified as a mental illness in 2001, and stopped being illegal in 1997. Similar intolerances exist in the country towards LBGT people as I would say in Jamaica . Chinese families and medical workers perform thousands of conversion therapies on LBGT people each year, which is in reality electric shock treatment.
Today a gay rights advocacy group has brought a case for banning this practice to the high court. Reports are indicating that the case will be a success describing the Government as 'softening' on the issue.
Let's hope this case does succeed and with the economic links to Jamaica it acts as a catalyst for change there too.
I may be being optimistic but if China can start to change, given their human rights record, then hopefully Jamaica can too.

My experience is things have changed over the decades, simply not for the better. Dancehall replaced churches and Boom Boom Bye Bye replaced Amazing Grace. The Bible is what most Jamaican I know use to justify their HATE. Granted, many I am sure have never bothered to read it beyond Lecticus.

While the abuse isn't defensible it saddens me that a man would want another man's bamboo in their rectum. Something wrong in the brain with that (ass-backwards) concept...and no surprise it looked like there were a lot of mental health issues in that gully.
