The term "staycation" has been around for a long time. I used to hear it being referred to by a local radio broadcaster.
Here at least, it just meant to stay around home during someones vacation time as opposed to travelling elsewhere.

lol, Doc, my Mom's is Green. And it says "Resident Alien".

DP/Displaced Person - ug, that terminology brings up ugliness for me and I'm sure others. "DP" camps were all over Europe after the war when many people, lots of them children ended up because their homes and families were anihilated. My mother's cousin was in a DP camp, and "labeled" a "Displaced Person" because his entire family perished at Auschwitz and his entire neighborhood raided, homes emptied - he lived on the streets running before the war ended.

It was at this DP camp that an Uncle of his came to find him (after searching many all over the country), fell in love with a Red Cross nurse there and moved with Serge (my cousin the "DP"Wink with her to Australia to live "happily ever after".

(Making him and this cousin "aliens" in Australia, lol. But seriously - there's no happily ever after for this set of Displaced Persons.)
