Tammy - I felt blessed the entire trip -
I really think you should look into Isla Mujeres -
I think it would be such a good place for you -
Expedia and Orbitz often have great package deals - do a search for cancun where you would fly into- then narrow it down to isla mujeres

I lived on an Island in Greece many years ago - there I opened a small restaurant with my X - I loved it there but things went great with the Greek. Isla Mujeres reminds me a lot of Ios back in the eighties when I was there. It is a friendly laid back place without a lot of hustle. People are super casual - I only saw one pair of high heels the entire week and they looked out of place. I brought a long tropical dress and never put it on. All one needs is a carry on bag with shorts, tshirts, flip flops and a bathing suit. I never even bothered with jewelry and I hardly wore any make-up.
