thanks for sharing.....loving it!
I personally cannot do it anymore...I'm so grateful to have a jamaican partner...he deals with EVERYTHING jamaican. I just stay out of all of it. WORLD of difference Smile

God I love this board. You can tell the truth and not get lamblaster. At lest not yet.

Bet you do and most people here do too - but I'm a good girl and I didn't mention any names.

Yes, but at least I didn't have to see it Smile

I'm out of the loop - now I'm gonna go crazy wondering who the leg lifter is! I've had the same "discussions" with the money changers in the past, but if I'm with G, it's a totally different discussion - no funny stuff, just the straight-up, accurate transaction, thank you very much! Don't think the tourist-rip-off scene will ever change much, if at all.

But on the other hand, thank you for the lovely pics - knowing all that beauty still exists makes me wanna go back now!!! I can have a crappy day in Negril due to all the drama and go to bed in a pissed-off mood, and still wake up happy the next morning, eager to start all over again, LOL!

Pineapple and Sophie tell it like it is. I like that. Don't think that anyone will criticize you here. I have my suspicion on who some of the people are. Hey if they do things out there then people will talk about it.

Re: Trip 23 - You guys asked for it - booger - 06-30-2013

I laughed at the leg lifter comment. One thing is certain, you will B seeing some leg lifting from that one. She was the first one of the friends from that other board to hit me up about some bull shit. Yep, go drink the Kool Aid or should I say Hater Aid.......

Man, I hope your frustrations run out and you start enjoying your trip. And thanks for showing up at the flop.....

I can't speak for Pineapple But the last two trips have been really weird for Smokey and I. Trip before last was when Smokey got that horrible virus and swore he was never going back. Ha- yeah right. I don't know what was off this last trip. I know for me personally I have a short fuse and a low bullshit tolerance~~ this can be an ugly combo especially when you throw in the menopause that is sometimes disguised as raging pms. Things were off where we were staying and that was making me a bit... ummm..uncomfortable? For lack of a better word. Then there was peripheral shit going on around us that was weird and that I didn't want to know about or see. I fell one night (SOBER!) and my all over hurt and I developed a bad ass cold to top it off.
Now the funny part?? I came home done with Jamaica. Sick of it! Booked air to Florida in September. Started researching where to stay. Only place I could find with no high rise buildings, clear water and white sand was Anna Maria Island. Tried to find a cheap place to stay- no such thing there. Ok- I found a "cheaper" place, then I read the rules for the place....wtf? No this that and the other. Only whispering allowed outside after 10:00pm?? Absolutely nothing outside after 11pm?? No cursing--- HOW WOULD I TALK?? LOL Then I see that people talk about smokers as if we are ax murderers and dog killers. Ok- they can shove it~~ Cancelled the flights and booyyyyyy Jamaica is looking GREAT again! LOL Although I want to move way up to the other end of the beach or to a different area as long as it is white sand, clear shallow water and no high rises.
But really, when you are not a laid back easy going person by nature Jamaica is a challenge on a good day, on a bad day?? Oh lord.
Also I have to say that I can be totally pissed about something and then laughing about it an hour later. Of course most things are funny to me, sometimes it just takes a minuteSmile So yes- there were many enjoyable times and hell- even the weird, annoying, pissy moments all make for good stories~~ after a little time has passed-SmileSmile

Re: Trip 23 - You guys asked for it - Pineapple - 07-01-2013

Since Booger brought it up, here are some shots of the Belly Flop Contest. I'm glad I broke the beach gravity and finally got there. I was almost too late to see the beginning but caught the end of Brasi's "entrance". It was great, but I didn't get any photos of it. And I didn't take that many other photos because there were some great photographers there that would do a much better job and besides I was headed to the water. Love me a pool!!!!! Best way to get me out of a bad mood is, just add water.

I had no idea what "this" was when I arrived. But I knew I was in for some kind of show.

Judges (they were not above a few bribes)

One of the three lady floppers making her entrance.

And the winner is -- Musickdoc -- Yeah

The representatives from the soup kitchen being given the money the flop raised. The little girl in the photo is one of the first children to benefit from the soup kitchen's back to school program. I spoke to her for a second and she was so sweet and thankful for way the charity helped her.

It actually pays to be a little late. As I pulled up the lane there were cars everywhere and no place for me until the security guard saw me, smiled and opened the gate to the court yard. Oh baby, it was sweet.

Great job. Is the white haired guy the St Anthony's father Jim. If so he looks exactly like a guy from Nova Scotia that I met 2 Feb's ago that was volunteering for a few months. I wonder if it's him ?

Thanks Fatty...He just looks like him I guess .
