In a dark laundry room at a Jamaican Sandals resort, pinned to the floor by a hotel lifeguard, a Michigan teenage girl lay paralyzed with fear as the man bit her lip and raped her, violently robbing her virginity.
When her mother found her after the assault, trembling and holding herself in a hallway, the 17-year-old couldn't speak. She could only point to a metal door.
Behind the door, her friend was being gang-raped by three resort lifeguards.

I realize lawyers have to do what they have to do, but ... "We weren't on notice that our lifeguards were scumbags"??

I hope the USAToday story gets widely read.

With a 2nd hand story of last-night-theft of a camera bag from a hotel, as in the above, I'm private of my travel dates as well as what hotel I am in. Something I hope we all practice when conditions warrent.

As for justice, and truth (ie, the police diligence in locating the gun shot victum/rapist), Jamaica is not high on my list.

After reading this on every possible internet outlet relating to Jamaica .... I find this article sensationalist and the journalist makes two incidents appear as multiple incidents.

I’m going to stick to my personal experience and that of many people I know that have travelled to Jamaica for years.

Not saying things haven’t happened but I’m not into mob hysteria
And jumping on the Jamaica has a rape problem bandwagon
All of our friggin countries do!
